Old Business:
Bear Lake Days. Bob Peterson reported that good weather has been ordered. Brochures are out, the Newspaper has the insert ready to go, and a mail insert to all 49614 zip codes is going out in next few days. There are several new events on tap, and lots of food and fun.
Bear Lake Brochures. Joanne Schroeder circulated the completed brochures, which are being distributed locally.
Potato Bake. So far only three volunteers for Saturday. Contact Fred Alkire. Come Friday 1PM to Methodist Church and bring a brush to scrub. Open 11-2 Saturday.
T-Shirts. Dixie Hoeh reported that she is also low on volunteers to sell on Saturday. Call her at 639-1790.
Buttons. Buttons, buttons, Rita has the buttons. A bag full to sell for $1.00
Craft Fair. Linda Young has received $1200, and some late comers will be accommodated.
New Business:
Bear Lake Watershed Alliance. Rich Russell gave the group a rundown of what the Watershed Alliance is and what it does and will do in the future. Currently, dues are $20 annually, and they are actively pursuing other funding sources. Rich asked if their group could have a food concession at the community yard sale, and also proposed that the Watershed Alliance would be interested in taking on total responsibility for the yard sale in the future. After discussion, it was moved by Jackie Johnson, supported by Pauline Jaquish, and passed with one dissention to allow the Watershed to advertise food sales in the brochure, but keep the event as a Promoter’s sponsored activity.
Kiosk sign and Bulletin Board. Bob Peterson brought up the possibility of adding a bulleting board on the front of the Lions building. The one in the open space next to the drug store is perpendicular to the sidewalk and not easily seen. Cost estimate at $560 or less if the Boy Scouts or another organization builds it. After discussion, no motion was made and the issue was tabled until a later meeting.
Trees. Jacque Erdman brought up the possibility of a future project to replant Maple trees along Potter Road and a section of Norconk. Discussion mentioned that the road commission should be consulted; community groups and the school could be involved, etc. Rita, Jacque, Jerome Kenny will pursue sometime after Bear Lake Days.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40AM
